Nico: The Guide Behind Norgay

My Path Wasn't Straight. It Was Forged.

My coaching approach is born from the synthesis of two seemingly opposing worlds.

On one hand, the hard-won understanding from an arduous journey.

On the other, the rigor of continuous study, driven by a fascination with the complexities of the human mind.

The authentic value of the guidance I offer is the alloy created between these two worlds: the mastery of applying scientific tools to the often chaotic and harsh terrain of real human experience.

From Marketing to the Mind

My career began in the world of marketing and business administration. I was good at it, but I felt a growing disconnect between the work I was doing and the impact I wanted to have.

For a while, I flirted with design, service design, and especially customer experience design, becoming increasingly drawn to the "why" behind human decisions.

This interest led me on a deliberate academic journey into psychology—exploring behavioral economics, decision-making, and evolutionary psychology.

This wasn't just a career change; it was an alignment of my passion with my profession.

I am now a formal student in a bachelor's program for psychology, constantly deepening the scientific foundation that underpins all of my coaching and training.

My approach is rooted in evidence, not mysticism.

The Personal Journey:
The Expat, The Climber, and The Ascent from the Abyss

Alongside my professional evolution, my personal life was also one of constant adaptation.

For over 15 years, I lived in five different countries, each with its own culture, language, and way of life.

I understand the unique challenges of being an expat—the feeling of being an outsider, the struggle to reinvent yourself, and the process of finding your balance in an unfamiliar world.

That period also included my own arduous ascent from the abyss of addiction.

That experience gave me an invaluable, first-hand understanding of the psychological forces at play and, more importantly, an empathetic perspective on what such a struggle truly entails.

Finding Strength in Being Different

I have a mild form of autism and for 40 years I struggled with feeling awkward or, simply put, "too different".

Today, I have made peace with this.

I've begun to cherish the unique perspective it offers me: a true "superpower" of seeing the world through a prism that reveals fascinating details, inaccessible to others.

My goal is to help you see that your unique path is, in fact, your greatest asset.

The Norgay coaching process is built on a conviction: that everyone deserves a guide who understands the value of the climb itself—a guide who has had their own arduous ascents.

When I'm Not Guiding

✓ I'm a father to a wonderful daughter (born in 2020), with whom I delight in doing silly things.

✓ I cook well enough that friends often invite themselves over for dinner.

✓ I paint on wood and stone.

✓ And yes, I dress up as a steampunk Viking whenever I get the chance.
